FPSO UWILD Class Inspection

Geo Oceans was engaged by a global operator to perform a Bureau Veritas (BV) class-accredited ROV UWILD (Underwater Inspection in Lieu of Dry-docking) on an FPSO. The project formed part of a long-term mini-ROV inspection contract supporting marine class compliance and hull integrity assurance for floating production assets.

Scope

Our scope of work included:
  • General Visual Inspection (GVI), Close Visual Inspection (CVI), and Marine Growth (MG) surveys across the FPSO hull
  • Detailed visual inspection and dimensional measurements on mooring chains
  • Cathodic Protection (CP) potential readings across hull structures
  • Live data recording and annotation using our Digital Edge platform for efficient processing and rapid reporting

Technology & Execution

To deliver the campaign, Geo Oceans mobilised a fleet of Saab Seaeye HD Falcon ROVs modified in-house for class-approved FPSO UWILD operations. These systems were optimised for safe, reliable, and high-quality data acquisition in close-proximity hull and mooring chain inspections.

All collected data was streamed, reviewed, and compiled into structured digital reports, with final deliverables quality-assured by our onshore team in line with class society and client requirements. Outcome
