Process
Geo Oceans and AUAV deployed the Sonomatic Robotic Magnetic Crawler, custom-modified by Sonomatic E2i division to suit the unique tank environment. AUAV operated the SCOUT DI 137 UAV under BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) conditions to support navigation and positioning on the project.
Outcome
Conclusive inspection findings with less than one man-hour of confined space entry—saving the client a costly shipyard maintenance and repair campaign and weeks of lost production. This was a milestone project for unmanned inspections offshore, significantly improving safety and demonstrating the feasibility of fully robotic inspections for future tank integrity programs.
