Geo Oceans has signed a Cooperation Protocol with Angola’s Instituto Superior Politécnico de Tecnologias e Ciências (ISPTEC), launching a scholarship, internship and mentorship programme for local students alongside its presence at AIMCT Angola 2026 in Luanda.
Geo Oceans has marked a significant step in its commitment to Angola and the wider African offshore energy sector, signing a Cooperation Protocol with the Instituto Superior Politécnico de Tecnologias e Ciências (ISPTEC). The partnership is being celebrated during this week’s Asset Integrity Maintenance Corrosion & Turnaround Conference (AIMTC) 2026 in Luanda, where Geo Oceans is exhibiting alongside long-term partner Sonomatic.
Held on 14th July 2026, AIMCT Angola brings together operators and service providers to address the integrity challenges facing ageing offshore infrastructure, including corrosion, inspection complexity and life-extension decisions for FPSOs. Geo Oceans is attending with members of its management team, including Vice President International Operations Peter Tawse, Subsea Inspection Manager Pierre Colin, and Project Manager Africa Clinton Park.
At the heart of the new partnership is a Scholarship, Internship and Mentorship Programme designed to support Angolan students with knowledge development and future career opportunities in the offshore energy industry. The programme reflects Geo Oceans’ commitment to local content and to building lasting relationships within the Angolan market.
As part of the visit, Subsea Inspection Manager Pierre Colin will deliver a guest lecture to ISPTEC students, sharing practical experience in subsea inspection and integrity and offering insight into careers in the sector.
“We are proud to formalise our partnership with ISPTEC and to invest in the next generation of Angolan engineering talent. Supporting local skills development is central to how we want to grow in this region,” said Peter Tawse, Vice President International Operations, Geo Oceans.
On the Sonomatic stand at Table 11, visitors can explore how the combined Sonomatic and Geo Oceans offering — spanning subsea inspection approaches, advanced NDT technologies and the value of data-driven asset management to support safer, more informed integrity decisions on long-life offshore assets.
Geo Oceans looks forward to building on the ISPTEC partnership in the years ahead and to supporting the Angola offshore industry through both technical excellence and investment in people.
